TECO Peoples Gas named Customer Champion for fifth year in a row

Residential customer satisfaction is rooted in brand trust and engagement

TECO Peoples Gas again was designated a Customer Champion by Market Strategies International. The honor is given each year to utilities with exceptional performance in brand trust, service satisfaction and product experience – three categories that compose the Engaged Customer Relationship (ECR) index. Peoples Gas led the nation with the highest ECR score out of the 132 electric, natural gas and combination utilities in the survey.

"We believe that we must build strong relationships with our customers in order to enhance their experience with us," said T.J. Szelistowski, president of Peoples Gas. "We work hard every day, and I am so proud that our team members' efforts are being recognized by our customers across the state."

Earlier this year, Peoples Gas received the highest overall score in the nation for the fourth year in a row in the 2018 Utility Trusted Brand & Customer Engagement™: Residential study. The Cogent Reports™ study by Market Strategies International provides a comprehensive view into utilities' relationships with their residential customers.

More than 60,000 residential utility customers responded to the survey.

Peoples Gas also has been designated an Environmental Champion by the same group for the past five years.
