TECO Peoples Gas again was designated a Customer Champion by Escalent, a behavior and analytics firm that conducts the annual Cogent Syndicated Trusted Brand & Customer Engagement studies. The honor is given each year to utilities with exceptional performance in brand trust, service satisfaction and product experience – three categories that compose the Engaged Customer Relationship (ECR) index. Peoples Gas had one of the highest ECR scores in the nation out of the 140 electric, natural gas and combination utilities in the survey.
TECO Companies Encourage Helping Neighbors in Need on Giving Tuesday

Regulators approve TECO Peoples Gas’ settlement for customer rates
The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) today unanimously approved TECO Peoples Gas’ proposed base-rate settlement that takes effect in January. Typical residential customers with annual consumption between 100 and 249 therms and billed at the RS-2 rate will see an increase of about $2.48 to their total monthly bills. For typical business customers with annual consumption between 2,000 and 9,999 therms and billed at the GS-1 rate, the increase will be about $24.12 to their total monthly bills.

On Aug. 11 (8/11) Peoples Gas Reminds Floridians to Call 811 Before Starting Digging Projects
Because Aug. 11, is dubbed 811 Day, it serves as a reminder for Florida residents and excavators to call 811 two business days before beginning digging to have underground utilities marked. All digging projects – from DIY tasks such as landscaping or installing a mailbox to larger projects requiring excavation equipment – require a call to 811.

After 12 Years, TECO Peoples Gas Files for Rate Adjustment to Take Effect Near the Beginning of 2021
After deferring its original filing as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, today Peoples Gas filed a petition with the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) requesting a future increase in base rates that would likely take effect near the beginning of 2021. If approved, typical residential customers with annual consumption between 100 and 249 therms would see an increase of about $5 on their monthly bills, and typical commercial customers with annual consumption between 2,000 and 9,999 therms would see an increase of about $36 on their monthly bills. This is the utility’s first request for a base rate increase in 12 years.

TECO Peoples Gas to pursue rate adjustment for 2021
Today, TECO Peoples Gas filed its formal notification with the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) that it will be seeking a base rate adjustment, which would take effect in 2021. The company will submit more details about the proposed rate adjustment and impact to customer bills in April, however base rates will not increase this year.
